Have you guys shopped at a Spencer’s store? They have got the funniest gifts. They have the latest fads in college games like beer pong. There are so many T-shirts available at these stores, no matter whom you are shopping for you could probably find a t-shirt they would relate to, Minecraft anyone, or how about super heroes. Spencers has a great stock of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman Products. Even footed pajamas. For unique gift ideas Spencers is a great place to shop.
Now through Monday they are having a sale too. Free shipping on orders over $40 with code JAMOUT. I shop for my friends at Spencers all the time. I can always find something unique, even a little naughty if it fits their personality. It is a fun place to kill time waiting for my kids at the mall. The people watching is great there too, sometimes I just watch and listen to the other shoppers and it makes me giggle. Spencer’s brings out the kid in people and that is a fun thing to experience. If you need a funny present or just a few smiles because it has been that kind of a day, wander around a Spencer’s Gifts store for awhile, it is a guaranteed way to start grinning.
The Rocksmith system boasts that you can learn to play the guitar in 60 days. 95% of people who tried improved their guitar skills after using Rocksmith. What I think it looks like is an awesome video game. This is on my list to buy my kids. Rocksmith can be used for the Xbox 360, Play Station 3 and any Mac or PC.
There are exercises in Rocksmith disguised as games to improve skills so you learn while having fun, which really is the best way especially for children. Rocksmith is not yet available for the Wii system but hopefully it will be soon. The main difference between Rocksmith and other guitar games like Rockband or Guitar Hero is that Rocksmith requires a real electric guitar. So if you already have one that part is easy. If you don’t it is a significant expense but with Rocksmith you don’t need guitar lessons so you save that money and you also save money on driving to the lessons.
From the Rocksmith site:
A PROVEN METHOD
Rocksmith teaches you how to play fast and effectively by letting you plug any real guitar or bass* directly into your Xbox 360® games and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Windows® PC or Mac.
Rocksmith becomes your personal guitar teacher as it monitors how you play, dynamically adjusts the difficulty to your skill level, then slowly introduces more notes and phrases until you’re playing your favorite songs note-for-note.
Now that I have the children taken care of it is time for Mommy, she would like, coach signature bags, what do you say Santa? I have been a very good girl.
There are some gifts from my childhood that really stick out still today. This sometimes surprises me because these days it is hard to remember why I left one room to go to another sometimes. I blame that one on the kids, my mind is scattered now and my life is much busier than it used to be. I remember thinking Christmas is so far away, or my birthday or whatever holiday was coming up. They always took so long to arrive. Now they come and go before I am ready.
One of my favorite birthdays was the year I got a Lite Bright. I played with that thing all the time, it was so much fun. How great for the hand eye coordination and it kept me quite and busy for hours. I need to find a toy like that for my kids, they would never look away from a screen if I didn’t force them to. Another favorite was a jewelry box and of course barbies. How I loved to get barbies, I played with them so much. Then there were clothes, shoes, and dolls. Always fun for a girl to receive any of them. My kids all want expensive electronics. I will have to find some gifts that don’t require batteries or electricity and show them how fun that can be too.
Delivering a gift basket to a loved one on your Christmas list is a special way to give them some favorite items and personalize the basket. I found a great selection of baskets to fill at our Goodwill Store. They were very reasonable of course but I happened to stop by the store when it was running a special and I go the baskets for half off, Score! I have several people on my Christmas list who I give a gift basket to every year. I find items through out the year to fill the baskets and that helps to take the strain off my budget during the holiday season. I can find great sales and clearance items after a holiday. Many of them will keep for at least a year so this year try to find some items after Christmas on clearance and save yourself some money already on next years gift baskets. You will really appreciate the time spent on scrambling to shop as well as the money. Gift baskets are really great gifts for any occasion, not just at Christmas.
Ideas to fill baskets include;
- Foods such as; fruit, nuts, sausage, candy, chocolate
- Games like cards, dice, puzzle books
- Holiday ornaments
- Soaps and lotions
- A bottle of wine or another favorite beverage
The possibilities are really endless.
Fall is quickly approaching so this is a great time to talk about projects you can make in the fall for gifts. It is so fun to be in the season, on time, on trend, and save money! The fall brings opportunities for decorating with the beautiful colors. Leaves are so great for fall decorating projects, kids and adults alike can create great decorations to be used as gifts that look beautiful!
Here is a picture of a Fall Painting Project, I found on Pinterest.
Isn’t that pretty, any one would love to receive that and display it, it is an easy project for kids that is lots of fun too. Another one is to make a card and let your kids collect pretty leaves to glue on it. My kids make me a tree one year, they painted a trunk and glued pretty leaves they collected to it, it turned out gorgeous and I have it still. I framed it so I can take it out in the fall to display. These homemade Fall gifts are treasured by the recipient and they are from the heart but don’t cost a lot of money. That is what truly makes the gift so special after all. Go search out some fun bonding projects to do with your children the results will brighten peoples day!
