A Rich Chocolate Surprie

Graduations, birthdays, weddings, Christmas, really any occasion you can give money as the gift. We all know there are different times when we actually want to give money as a gift. Does anyone else just giving someone a card with some money on the inside? I seriously hate doing that because it just seems so boring, and like there was no thought or effort put into it!

Chocolate moneyFor those time when I do want to give someone money, I like to do it in a fun way. My favorite is to put the money in a chocolate box like this one. Either save a box from a previous buy or just go any buy a cheep box of chocolates…. or buy the ones you like so you can eat them all! You could also use an existing box you have and just use, mini cup cake tins.

If you wrap it, when they open it, they will probably be less than exciting about the box of chocolates you just gave them. Either have them open it right away, or let the joke go on for as long as the wait to open the chocolates! Who knows it might be a while until they realize they have a bunch of money!

52 Reasons Why I Love You

card giftNeed a special gift idea for the one you love? Maybe it’s your wedding day, you two just moved, or just feeling like you want to do something special for him or her. You cannot say “I love you” enough in your relationship, and sometimes when something even small is done we forget to let them know we love them.

To let him or her know you love them more than they know, make them a book of all the reasons your love them! I love this cute idea of putting all of them in a deck of cards and having “52 reasons I love you.” So you don’t have to think of all 52 on the spot, every time you think of one go write it down until you have compiled a list of 52 reasons. This is such a cute, simple and special way of reminding someone how much and why you love them!

The Ultimate Wedding Gift

I had the most amazing gift idea the other day.. I don’t know why people haven’t thought of this sooner, but I am pretty proud of thinking of this. If you have already thought of it.. I’m sorry. I was buying my friend a wedding gift and after I bought the gift, I had to buy wrapping paper, ribbon, and a card. I was annoyed that I didn’t have any wrapping paper at home that would work for a wedding gift, and then all of a sudden it hit me.

A great wedding gift isn’t always something on the registry, or those wine glasses you think everyone would like. A great wedding gift is something that they won’t know they need until the time comes that they need it for. In my case, this would be a whole bunch of gift giving necessities. A lot of times people don’t buy the wrapping paper, gift bag, bows, ribbon, cards etc. until they need them! A lot of times buying theses things are quite annoying. The next time I get a gift for someone’s wedding or something like that, I am going to buy them a container filled with different wrapping paper, bow, ribbon, and all that good stuff! I just googled wrapping paper storage and this walmart kit came up.Screen Shot 2014-08-25 at 4.57.51 PM

Even when I see a wrapping paper deal, I never want to buy it because I don’t need it at the time, so it doesn’t seem like a smart purchase. Buying off season wrapping paper is the best time to get it thought. They are always cheaper if you get seasonal wrapping paper not during that season! I would probably get a larger one to hold more things. All of these gift giving necessities can really add up at the register, AKA a very sufficient wedding gift! :)

Plain Bands or Ornate Engagement Rings?

This question perplexed by friend and her fiancee. While the tradition of a plain gold band is timeless and will never go out of style there is a draw to a fancy rings as well. As usual I suggested a list of Pros to each and see how they stack up. There are times when a list of pros and cons can lay it all out and make a decision easier. I think it helped put the decision in perspective. Here is what we came up with.

Plain Band

Pros

  • will not get caught on things as easily
  • easy to clean
  • comfortable
  • low maintenance
  • repairs less likely
  • can’t lose stones
  • more affordable
  • traditional

Ornate Engagement Rings

Pros

  • sparkly
  • original
  • can customize
  • sparkly again

So there seem to be more pros in her list to a plain band than an ornate ring. This is a decision that should come from the heart, it is something to be worn for the rest of your life and will probably be the most meaningful piece of jewelry you will ever wear. Practicality has a place but it should not be the only deciding factor. I am excited to see what she goes with. I did suggest she go with a few in between choices, whatever she picks it will be beautiful.

I love that with the pendant and charm jewelry you can create a style that is all about you. You can create your own style, look and be as dramatic or creative as you wish. There are crests, initials, different common shapes, as well as charms with gems and stones.  By creating your own pieces, you can match them to specific outfits.  These charms and pendents make great birthday gifts, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day gifts.  Maybe you are heading out to a baby shower, or wedding, create a custom piece and be a party favorite!
